Colour photograph of the bronze Seaforth Highlanders memorial plaque, mouted above the entrance to Dornoch Courthouse, commemorating the 8432 comrades belonging to the ten battalions of the Seaforth Highlanders who gave their lives for their country in the Great War. (See 2001_107 the programme for the unveiling of the memorial on 29 October 1923)

My ancestor GEORGE MATHESON (from Loth area) joined the Seafoth Highlanders at aged 17/18 in 1780/81 Do you have any records of recruitment of that time please?

Historylinks Museum does not hold any records for the Seaforth Highlanders but The Regimental Museum of the Highlanders (Queen’s Own Highlanders Collection)at Fort George holds the records for several Highland Regiments including the Seaforths.
