A War Office letter dated 27 Nov 1914 providing a response to Mrs Rose's application for a war widow's pension. The rate for a Captain is quoted as £100 per year pension plus gratuity of £250, a compassionate allowance of £18 per year and a gratuity of £83.6s.8d for each child
