Sketch from War diary of Capt Ronald Hugh Walrond Rose

One of three sketches in the final pages of the war diary of Capt Ronald Hugh Walrond Rose, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) written in pencil in a Army Book 153 - Field Message Book and covering the period 29 July - 16 Oct 1914. This sketch appears to have been drawn from directly north of Venizel and on the north bank of the River Aisne. The inscription 'Soissons' at top left refers to the town to the west of Venizel. The Cameronians reached this position, on the north bank on 15 Sep 14. The other two sketches of front line positions appear at 2008.141.03 and 04.
