Large leather and brass-bound illustrated family bible, presented to Mr. and Mrs. James F. Hardie, Petty, Inverness; in dark brown leather embossed with gold lettering "Holy Bible"; with brass corners and clasps. Inscription on inside cover reads "presented by Mr & Mrs Campbell to their sister Margaret on the occasion of her marriage with Mr James Hardie, Free Church Manse, Petty, 14th March 1888", followed by "if ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it, John XIV, 14". Contains family register listing names of 2 children.
