Comments:
I hired a genealogist who traced my GGGgrandfather back to Neil Murray of Achvandra, a smith in 1822. He left Skelbo farm, as a subtenant in 1831 to go to Beaverton Ontario. He married Marion Mackay (her parents were James Murray and Marion Mackay). One of Neal's children was William Murray who had Hugh Murray, my grandfather. If you have any genealogies of the Murray Clan from Dornoch could you send them to me. Many thanks, Hugh E. Murray III

Thank you for your comment. The notes included with the above letter do not relate specifically to the Murray family. The notes are of the names of people 'removed' from their tenancy in 1800, a total of 682, compiled by John Murray from Quebec at West Register House, Edinburgh in 1998. There was no mention of a Neil Murray and sadly we do not hold any specific genealogies of the Murray families in Dornoch - Administrator
