Ship's foghorn

Hand bellows made of wood with leather concertina bellows, held by metal studs, and a short brass nozzle into which fits a brass trumpet. The brass trumpet has a metal reed at the nozzle end. The donor referred to the object as the 'Dornoch Fog Horn' and an internet search revealed this type of instrument was carried on small ships. The donor came from Dornoch and went to Reaquhar School.
