Forester's Axe

A lumberjack's axe marked FLWELL. The double bladed axe head has been treated with "Rust Cure". The wooden shaft is fixed to the axe head with a wooden wedge. The handle is well worn and subject to some decay. The axe came from the Canadian Forestry Corp when camped at Clashmore at the junction of the A9 and Clashmore Road during WWII. They had another camp at Spinningdale but without a sawmill.
