International Twenty Match badge - Robert Mackay 1900

Badge (a) in the form of a blue enamelled bar with a raised silver metal shield in the centre with the Scottish royal crest. Silver lettering on the bar reads 1900. The back is stamped with the maker's mark JR&S. Based on 2006.086.066, this badge is assumed to be in recognition of membership of the Scottish team in the International Twenty match but on an occasion when Scotland did not win. The badge fits into a deep-lidded presentation box (b), which is covered in blue paper. The base of the box is lined with black velvet and the lid with faded and worn red silk.
Part of the Robert Mackay collection.
