Extract from the Northern Times of Friday April 29, 1977 with a monochrome photograph, taken 28 years previously, at Suisgill Lodge, showing the presentation of the Paynter Cup by Lady Paynter to Willie Macdonald (later and ironmonger in Dornoch) who captained his Dornoch team to success over Golspie's under-14 team. The caption highlights that Dornoch took the trophy in the latter two of the cup's first four years, losing both finals in the first two years to Brora. Others shown in the photograph include Lord Paynter, Ian Macrae, Johnny Melville, Ian Macdonald, W G Mackay, Mark Campbell, John Grant, Willie Mackay, Alistair Macrae, Dennis Bethune, John Gunn, Alan Sutherland, Willie Melville, Ali Grant, Robert Munro, Charlie Melville, Billy Murray, Golspie High School Headmaster Mr Macrae and his wife Edna, Bert Macleod then secretary of Sutherland Football Association and his son Don.
