Monochrome photograph of Willie Skinner (Snr) in the uniform of the 5th Seaforth Highlanders during service in WW1. He was badly gassed at Arras in 1918, losing the power of speech and sight for three months. When he returned to Dornoch he resumed his employment in the Town Clerk's office.
