Monochrome photograph of a group of five mounted soldiers at Davochfin, Dornoch. The location is hand written in ink on the reverse with the date 'Aug 1940'. The soldiers have rifles strapped on their backs.

Having done some research on the HG mounted sections in WW2 i'd say these are HG members who work on farms going off on patrol after work. I'd of thought they had taken off the collars for this but perhaps they are just posing for the camera here. ~ Many thanks for your comment. Administrator.
