Dornoch Tourism & Embo high speed broadbandExtracts from the Northern Times of Friday March 6, 2015 reporting a the launch of the Dornoch tourist campaign and, in an adjacent article, 'Embo set for high speed broadband'. The tourism article, accompanied by a colour photograph of Dornoch Area Community Interest Company (DACIC) chairman, Jennifer Cameron and Company Secretary Joan Bishop with Councillor Jim McGillivray, reports an ambitious £80,000 marketing drive to encourage more visitors to stay in Dornoch and explore the north Highlands. In tandem with the marketing drive it is reported that DACIC has improved the town's website. The adjacent article reports that Embo homes and businesses are the first in Sutherland to be able to order high speed fibre broadband as part of the digital roll-out being led in the region by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). Members of the Dornoch Focus Group and Embo residents joined HIE and British Telecommunications at the village green fibre cabinet to celebrate the arrival of the first sevices in Sutherland, Further roll-out to Dornoch and Golspie is reported as 'due soon'.
