My birth certificate tells me that I was born in Cuthill Dornoch November 25 1924. What was Cuthill then? Was it an area or a house? Is there any connection with nearby Skibo castle? Were there many people with my name living in Cuthill or Dornoch in 1924? [Many thanks for your comment and queries. Cuthill is part of the Skibo Estate and there is a Farmhouse, 3 Labourers cottages and substantial steadings on the site. A little further away is the Old Smithy. So there would have been a small number of people living in that area. According to the 1922 Labour lists, there was a Tacksman and family, Labourer and family, Tailor and Mason living there, I'm afraid I could find no reference to the name Georgeson though – Administrator]
