Black and white photo of a wooden chair with twisted front legs and back rails. Centre back panel is carved with a view of Dornoch cathedral. The back rails have finials in the shape of thistles, and the back panel is surmounted by a panel of flowers and a bird on a log. Possible made by a cabinet maker who worked at Skibo Castle. Original mount (now discarded) stated "From Cheadle House (now Bookshop)". The chair is believed to be in Sandy Baxter's house.

Comments:
I had this photograph sent to me approximately 30 years ago by Hamish Wills who ran the Bike Shop in the High Street, he was a member of the history society. This chair was indeed from Cheadle House in the High Street, a second chair identical to this is in Sweden with my Great Aunts Cousins family who took it there when she married Robert Palmgren. These chairs where made by my Great Grandfather Angus MacKay, (The Father Of Cycles), who owned the the original bike shop which was in Cheadle House. I have left copies of photographs of my Great Grandfather & Grandfather outside of the shop at Historylinks.
